Assistant Project Manager

The Goodkind Group is partnering with an established industrial construction and development company seeking an Assistant Project Manager. This position supports warehouse, distribution center and industrial building projects from preconstruction through completion.

The ideal candidate brings experience in construction project coordination, understands sitework and underground utilities, and is comfortable working with subcontractors, engineers and project owners.

Responsibilities:

• Support Project Managers with project planning, scheduling, budgeting and daily construction coordination.
• Review drawings, specifications and project scopes to ensure work meets contract requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, including sitework and underground utility contractors.
• Assist with bidding, proposal comparisons, subcontractor selection, procurement and project buyout.
• Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders and other project documentation.
• Participate in owner and subcontractor meetings, document progress and follow up on outstanding items.
• Monitor schedules, costs and field activities, helping resolve issues that could affect project delivery.
• Support project closeout and completion of required documentation.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Approximately 1–5 years of relevant construction experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or in a similar role.
• Experience with industrial warehouse construction, including precast or tilt-up concrete buildings.
• Exposure to projects exceeding 50,000 square feet and $5 million in construction value.
• Understanding of sitework, underground utilities and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to interpret complete construction drawings and design-build documents.
• Strong organization, communication and follow-through.
• Procore experience preferred.
