.NET Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled .NET Developer to lead a critical code migration project, transforming legacy .NET Framework applications, web services, and APIs into modern .NET platforms using C#. This on-site contract role in Montgomery, AL requires strong hands-on experience with C# and adherence to security clearance processes. Responsibilities:

• Participate in migrating web applications and services from .NET Framework to modern .NET platforms.
• Rewrite ASP.NET Web Forms applications into Blazor Server applications using custom frameworks and libraries.
• Convert WCF web services into RESTful APIs built on .NET 6 and above.
• Write clean, maintainable, and reliable C# code following team coding standards.
• Perform functional testing to ensure code accuracy and reliability.
• Debug and optimize code for performance and reliability.
• Write and interact with Microsoft SQL Server using SQL queries.
• Collaborate with management through regular meetings and participate actively in code reviews.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience writing clean, maintainable C# code following best practices.
• Proficiency in C# and .NET development, strongly preferred over other languages.
• Experience writing SQL statements and working with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Solid understanding of software development best practices.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Ability to pass ALEA background check and drug screening.
• High School Diploma or equivalent minimum education.
• Experience at a non-managerial level.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Prior experience migrating ASP.NET Web Forms to Blazor Server applications.
• Familiarity with converting WCF services to RESTful APIs.
• Eligibility or interest in potential conversion to Merit status.

Special Considerations:

• 100% on-site work requirement in Montgomery, AL.
• Must undergo and pass security clearance processes including ALEA background check and drug screening.

Scheduling:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Contract length of 6 to 12 months, with possible extension but not guaranteed.
