This position will play a critical role in advancing the Preservation of the Forces and Family (POTFF) program, which is dedicated to optimizing and sustaining the mission readiness, longevity, and performance of Special Operations Forces (SOF). Through integrated and holistic human performance initiatives, POTFF strengthens both the Forces and their families, ensuring comprehensive support for those who serve. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will contribute to impactful research and analytics that drive evidence-based decision-making and enhance the effectiveness of these vital programs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of SOF personnel and their families while working in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.This position is responsible for conducting psychological evaluations, using clinical interviews and psychological testing, and establishing psychiatric diagnoses according to the DSM. Additionally, the Clinical Psychologist will provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups, including supporting patients coping with medical conditions and assisting in rehabilitation.ResponsibilitiesConduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sourcesEstablish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders including providing psychological treatment for individuals and groups, helping medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries, and assisting in rehabilitation of patientsPractice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privilegesKey QualificationsDoctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychologySuccessful completion of an Internship/Residency in psychology accredited by the American Psychological AssociationMeet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructionsCurrent, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in one of any U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or U.S. Virgin IslandsCurrent certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) from the American Heart Association, with documentation providedAbility to effectively communicate orally and writtenAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearanceBenefits: Live an Extraordinary LifeWe care about your well-being, not just on the job.
