Responsibilities

• Treat patients under the direction and plan of care established by the Physical Therapist.
• Carry out therapeutic exercise, functional training, neuromuscular re-education, balance training, mobility work, and other treatments as directed.
• Help patients progress safely toward strength, movement, mobility, pain reduction, and recovery goals.
• Monitor patient response during treatment and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients on exercises, positioning, safety, home programs, and follow-through.
• Document treatment sessions accurately and timely in the clinic's EMR system.
• Communicate clearly with patients, Physical Therapists, clinic staff, and leadership.
• Help maintain steady patient flow throughout the day.
• Support a clean, safe, organized, and professional treatment environment.
• Follow clinic standards, state practice guidelines, and PTA scope of practice.

Skills

• Strong understanding of outpatient physical therapy treatment.
• Ability to follow and progress treatment plans within PTA scope of practice.
• Clear communication with patients, Physical Therapists, and clinic team members.
• Strong patient engagement, coaching, and education skills.
• Good clinical judgment when monitoring patient response, safety, and tolerance.
• Organized, dependable, and able to manage a steady outpatient schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Active Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Outpatient experience preferred.
• Temporary coverage, float, or contract experience helpful.
• BLS or CPR certification preferred.
• Strong commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
