Mission Critical Lead Facilities Lead/Chief Engineer

Job Summary Responsible for the operational management, effective daily leadership, and administration of the Operator with the objective of safely, efficiently, and effectively operating infrastructure and systems in a cost‑effective manner. Tasks include scheduling facilities operators, ensuring a 100% uptime reliability of mission critical facilities, directing operators, performing preventative maintenance, protecting client assets, supervising staff, and managing vendor personnel. Responsibilities Plan and schedule shifts for facilities operators to provide required coverage at each location. Maintain professionalism and meet client needs while achieving 100% uptime reliability. Provide direction to Mission Critical Facilities Operators and/or perform self‑service maintenance, repair, and service. Supervise and manage facilities operators and maintenance staff, including training and personal development. Directly manage vendor personnel or teams performing site infrastructure technical support (e.g., annual preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, upgrades, replacements). Protect and improve the value of client assets, ensuring infrastructure systems perform their intended functions. Maintain calm under duress during service emergencies. Qualifications High School diploma, GED equivalent, or technical training/degree (Required). Certified Mission Critical Operator (CMCO) (Desired). 7+ years of related work experience, including supervisory experience in a dedicated data center or mission critical environment (Desired). Operating Engineer or other applicable licenses and Universal CFC’s license (Required). Ability to understand and interpret design and construction documents for critical sites, update drawings as required, and present complex technical information to clients. Proficient in Microsoft Office and email. Strong grasp of mathematics, physics, chemistry as they relate to facilities management and mission critical operations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Technical knowledge of systems such as electrical (UPS, ATS, TSS, PSU, generators, lighting), mechanical (boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, HVAC), fire/life safety, environmental controls (BMS, DDC, CMMS), construction, and digital systems (fire alarm, security, card access, CCTV). Subject‑matter expertise in mission critical systems and operations, maintenance, engineering, and design principles. Strategic thinking and ability to present a vision for best‑in‑class performance. Advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Availability for on‑call duty 24hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Valid state driver’s license. Physical Work Requirements / Conditions Lifting up to 80 lbs. Working from heights, frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/overhead. Operating in adverse conditions (extreme cold, extreme heat). Driving for long periods of time. Climbing ladders up to 30 feet. Sitting and typing for extended periods. Location On-site – Allen, TX. This role requires site-based attendance. Vaccinations may be required for on‑site attendance. Availability On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
