Join a well-established, employee-focused machine shop where you’ll work on a wide variety of custom and repair projects—not production. This is a hands-on direct hire role ideal for a machinist who enjoys problem-solving, independence, and high-quality work.
What You’ll Do
- Operate manual lathes, vertical mills, and conversational CNC mills
- Machine parts from raw stock and repair/remanufacture customer components
- Set up and fixture parts (chucks, vises, angle plates, etc.)
- Perform threading, keyways, bearing fits, and general machining
- Read blueprints and plan machining processes
- Hold tight tolerances and inspect finished parts using precision tools
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment
What You Bring
- Strong manual machining experience (lathe & mill required)
- Ability to read blueprints and hold tolerances
- Experience in a job shop or repair environment
- Knowledge of metals: steel, stainless, aluminum, brass, bronze, plastics
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Basic hand tools required
- High school diploma or GED
Nice to Have:
- Conversational CNC experience
- Mastercam experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
Work Environment
- Job shop (variety of one-off and repair work)
- Fast-paced, team-oriented, not production-driven
- Monday-Friday 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM
- Benefits start after 90 days
