Position Summary ASU Three Rivers seeks a full‑time Workforce Electrical Training Instructor to provide high‑quality technical training to adult learners employed across a variety of local industries. Using current industry standards, up‑to‑date instructional materials, and engaging teaching methods, instructors help participants strengthen their technical knowledge and practical skills. The primary goal is to enhance the students’ existing skills, enabling them to perform their jobs more efficiently. The instructor is the classroom authority, setting course policies and procedures within a framework consistent across academic departments at the college. Faculty instructors are subject‑matter experts, current in their content areas and knowledgeable about industry/disciplinary academic and employment climates. Conducts daily work in alignment with ASU Three Rivers mission and academic purpose. Duties & Responsibilities Classroom and/or laboratory instruction in Workforce electrical industrial maintenance training classes for business and industry. Ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum. Evaluation of student learning through various formative and summative methods. Student advisement, recruitment, and retention activities. Availability to students during office hours and through other agreed‑upon communication means. Creation and maintenance of classroom records, including attendance, participation, and student grades. Attendance at and participation in Division and College meetings, committees, events, and activities. Participation in program reviews as scheduled. Submission of requested information – assessment reports and other materials – on time and in the appropriate format. Completion of regular professional development both as provided by the College or Division and as available through relevant professional organizations. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; and effectively present information to students, staff, management, and public groups. Demonstrated organizational skills in handling, directing, and prioritizing multiple and complex assignments and projects. Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, college employees, and the public. General Days/Hours M-F/8‑5 Other While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk/hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment – The typical working environment for Workforce faculty is an active‑learning classroom, which may include computer and electronics equipment, industrial equipment including moving mechanical parts, and live electricity. These labs and active classrooms may have moderate to high noise levels. Minimum Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess at least three years of work experience in electrical industrial maintenance and/or an associate degree in a related field of work experience. Candidates must possess a background in electrical fundamentals. Preferred qualifications for education and experience include: At least five years of work experience in electrical industrial maintenance and/or a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Industry certifications and/or credentials in areas such as motor controls, OSHA or other industrial safety training and/or certification. VFD experience, PLC experience, and ability to interpret and troubleshoot PLC logic as it relates to its application. Previous teaching experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
