Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg in Utica, NY. Start date 10/26/2026 for a 13‑week travel assignment. Weekly pay ranges from $2,115 to $2,270, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients, including stroke stepdown cases and related conditions (e.g., altered mental status, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, renal concerns).
- Monitor patient status, perform head-to-toe assessments, administer medications and IV therapies, manage IV pumps and enteral feeding tubes, and document findings accurately.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans; respond to clinical changes; escalate as needed; and participate in handoffs during shift changes.
- Utilize the electronic medical record (EPIC) for timely documentation, orders, and communications; ensure charting is complete and accurate.
- Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions; provide patient and family education; and support safe patient transitions, including admissions and discharges.
- Float to other units as needed per unit staffing requirements; comply with unit-specific policies and scrubs color as directed.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license with NURSYS verification
- 2+ years of Med/Surg experience with stroke stepdown exposure; travel experience required
- BLS certification; NIHSS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start); NIHSS is required for this unit
- EMR experience, specifically EPIC
- Valid driver’s license with address that matches demographics
- Ability to work night shift and participate in floating as needed
- RTO must be requested at time of submission
