Java Backend Engineer

Title: Java Backend Engineer
Location: Smithfield, RI (onsite)
Type: Contract
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years' of demonstrable experience in full stack Java programming building scalable web applications
- 6+ years' experience with Java Spring based frameworks and libraries preferably Spring boot
- 5+ years' working with public Cloud and Cloud based technologies with Microsoft Azure preferred
- 6+ years' experience building and consuming REST API based integration and microservices architecture
Preferred Skills:
- Hands on experience working with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka or Service Bus
- Building applications working with databases like Oracle, Postgres etc.
- solid Understanding and experience working with CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins
- Experience with software application testing approaches and tools like jUnit, Cucumber, Selenium
- Experience with Chaos Testing and other SRE practices for building highly resilient cloud based software applications
- Experience designing and developing applications in microservices architecture
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required
