The Opportunity

As our Founding Recruiter, you will own hiring for technical (engineering, data science, product) and business (sales, client success, marketing, etc.) teams. You'll partner closely with hiring managers to understand what each role needs, find and engage strong candidates, and give every applicant a clear, respectful experience. You will source, assess, and close strong candidates while building best-in-class, repeatable recruiting practices with hiring managers.

What You Will Do

· Own full-cycle recruiting across technical and business roles, from role kickoff and sourcing through screening, interviews, references, and offers.

· Partner with hiring managers to define role priorities, distinguish essential qualifications from preferences, and agree on how candidates will be evaluated.

· Build candidate pipelines through thoughtful outreach, referrals, professional communities, and other relevant channels.

· Lead candidate communication and interview coordination, keeping processes timely, organized, and transparent.

· Develop practical hiring tools, including job descriptions, interview plans, scorecards, and guidance for interviewers.

· Own and maintain our ATS; use pipeline data to identify bottlenecks and improve results.

· Help hiring managers understand talent market conditions, including candidate availability, compensation expectations, and competing opportunities.

· Strengthen how BranchLab presents its mission, work, and culture to prospective candidates.

Qualifications

· 5+ years experience owning full-cycle recruiting, including direct sourcing, candidate assessment, and offer closing.

· A track record of recruiting for multiple roles across tech and business functions, with the ability to learn new functions and talent markets quickly.

· Strong sourcing skills and the ability to write personalized outreach that earns a response.

· Sound judgment in assessing candidates against role-related criteria and helping hiring teams make consistent decisions.

· Familiarity with structured interviews, recruiting analytics, and interviewer training.

· Excellent communication and organization skills, with a reliable approach to keeping candidates and hiring managers informed.

· Experience using an ATS to manage searches and maintain accurate pipeline information.

· Comfort building processes from the ground up, while doing the day-to-day work in a fast-growing company.

· Experience in early-stage recruiting or building recruiting processes at an early-stage startup.
