Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Emergency Department. This position requires experience in a Level II Trauma Center and involves the care of adult and pediatric patients with emergent, urgent, and non-urgent conditions. Responsibilities include triage, urgent care, and management of various medical issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Perform assessments, identify nursing diagnoses, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including chest tubes, TPA, and breathing treatments.
• Conduct cardioversion and defibrillation as required.
• Utilize cooling/warming blankets and manage LVAD/Impella devices.
• Obtain 12 Lead EKGs and operate rapid infusers.
• Conduct trach care and provide care for patients requiring rapid sequence intubation (RSI) drugs.
• Care for pediatric patients, accounting for approximately 20% of the caseload.

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
• Experience in a Level II Trauma Center is mandatory.
• Travelers with less than 1 year of experience will not be accepted.

Shift Details

This position requires availability for night shifts, specifically 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Block scheduling is offered.

Unit Information

This role will involve working in the Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department, including areas of ED Holding, Triage, and Urgent Care, addressing conditions such as chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness, and abdominal pain.
