Lead Development Engineer

Cytiva, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Lead Development Engineer to oversee bioprocessing equipment product development from concept to commercial release. The role involves designing mechanical systems, leading engineering workstreams, and mentoring junior engineers within the R&D team in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of mechanical components and systems to meet performance and cost goals
Create engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D CAD models per design standards
Manage bills of materials and lead engineering change request and order activities
Define design inputs and maintain traceability between requirements and verification activities
Mentor junior engineers, facilitate design reviews, and resolve technical challenges

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3+ years of product development experience
Proficiency in engineering documentation, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis
Experience with CAD tools, prototype fabrication, and testing methods
Hands-on knowledge of metal/plastic fabrication, welding, and fastener selection
Ability to independently execute engineering projects and mentor others
Experience with bioprocessing, life sciences, medical devices, or regulated products preferred

Compensation: $87,000-$100,000 base plus eligible bonus/incentive pay
