Phlebotomist

Our cardiology practice is seeking a professional, compassionate, and highly dependable Phlebotomist to join our growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, excellent patient-care and communication abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and professionalism. As a member of our team, you will play an important role in supporting our physicians, clinical staff, and patients while contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of our laboratory services. We are seeking an individual who is: Experienced and confident in performing phlebotomy. Compassionate and professional when interacting with patients. Committed to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional standards. Patient Care & Phlebotomy: Perform outpatient blood draws in accordance with established procedures and protocols. Accurately identify patients prior to specimen collection. Select appropriate venipuncture sites and perform blood draws using proper technique. Follow the appropriate order of draw. Properly label specimens at the patient's bedside immediately following collection. Apply appropriate dressings following blood collection. Follow all PPE, infection-control, sharps-disposal, and biohazard procedures. Provide patients with a professional, courteous, and compassionate experience. Receive, process, prepare, and appropriately deliver specimens. Operate centrifuges and other laboratory equipment according to established procedures. Generate collection labels and maintain collection lists. Perform laboratory assistant duties as needed. Maintain laboratory equipment and calibration records. Monitor laboratory supplies and communicate inventory needs to Leadership. Assist with maintaining an organized and efficient laboratory environment. Register patients and assist with related administrative responsibilities. Utilize EMR and other computer systems for laboratory and administrative functions. Answer telephone calls and appropriately route messages and requests. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, Leadership, and coworkers. Assist with routine problem-solving and follow established escalation procedures. Maintain confidentiality when handling patient and practice information. Support the clinical team with additional responsibilities as assigned. Excellent phlebotomy skills. Strong patient-care and customer-service skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. At least 1 year of laboratory experience preferred. Previous outpatient facility experience preferred.
