MRI Technologist Job Title: MRI Technologist Location: All Locations Division/Dept.: RIS & LRH IMAGING Reports To: Office Supervisor Type of Shift: Full Time Possible Sign on bonus Job Summary The MRI Technologist performs a variety of MRI procedures in an outpatient setting while maintaining a high level of customer service and quality patient care. The responsibilities include performing routine MRI procedures following protocols established by the radiologist and demonstrating compassion to ensure overall patient satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform routine MRI procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist; competently perform procedures with limited supervision. Properly input all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history, referring providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure; able to burn CDs. Log all injections with the amount, date, time, route, and response to injection; review lab results for patients, including BUN and creatinine, calculate GFR as needed, and discuss abnormalities with the radiologist to determine if contrast is indicated. Properly identify patients and demonstrate compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality; assume responsibility for patient care, safety, and comfort. Take responsibility to stock exam rooms with necessary supplies; maintain equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider. Assist in other modalities as assigned. Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner; promote teamwork by assisting other staff as needed; words and actions support team improvement. Maintain credentials for the position. Work Experience / Educational Requirements Preferred: 2 or more years in radiology field. High school diploma or GED. Completion of a course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Florida Department of Health. Advanced certification in MRI required. Skills / Physical Requirements Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images; identifying equipment problems; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public.
