C++ Senior developer

Rate Range: $60-$65/Hr

Job Description:

• Modify and enhance C++ code with embedded SQL to support AWS RDS SQL Server
• Perform database connectivity changes (ODBC / FreeTDS / SQL Server drivers)
• Update and troubleshoot Unix shell scripts (ksh/bash) related to batch jobs and integrations
• Refactor Open RP (Rating Plan / Rating Policy) logic impacted by database migration
• Convert Sybase-specific SQL to SQL Server-compatible SQL
• Support POC development, testing, and validation
• Coordinate with Unix, DBA, and application teams to resolve migration issues
• Analyze production issues and provide support during migration phases

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in C++ on UNIX/AIX environments
• Hands-on experience with embedded SQL in C/C++
• Solid knowledge of Sybase ASE and SQL Server
• Experience with ODBC / FreeTDS / unixODBC
• Proficiency in Unix shell scripting (ksh/bash)
• Understanding of Open RP / Rating Plan / policy-based calculation logic
• Ability to analyze and refactor legacy code

Good to Have:

• Experience with AWS RDS SQL Server
• Exposure to AI-assisted code conversion (assessment & validation)
• Knowledge of SQR reports and batch processing
• Prior experience in database or application modernization projects
