Kindergarten Assistant for 26/27 School Year at a Farm-based Microschool

We are seeking a Kindergarten Assistant to Join our Anthroposophical-Based, Farm Microschool in Longmont, Colorado. About the opportunity Seeking a warm, grounded and reliable Kindergarten assistant to help to hold a group of 10-12 students age 5-6. This group is led by lead teacher, Liz Kriso- who has a hopeful and bold vision to create a deeply life-giving and human education for the children and families in the community. We have just led our first class from kindergarten through 5/6 grade and are welcoming a new class in the fall. This is a special opportunity to work with a supportive and enthusiastic parent body and on a community farm. Details This is a meaningful opportunity to support young children in a nurturing, rhythm based Waldorf classroom while working closely with an experienced lead teacher. We are looking for someone who loves to work with young children, is interested in Waldorf education. This would be a wonderful role for someone who wants experience in early childhood education. The assistant teacher plays a supportive role in the life of the classroom in helping to maintain a calm, rhythmic and nurturing environment for children. The assistant teacher primarily is a support position, but they will be expected to take initiative at certain points in the day and work in close partnership with the lead teacher. Key Responsibilities Help establish and maintain a warm, calm classroom mood rooted in imitation and rhythm Support children through daily transitions using songs, movement, and quiet presence Assist with bathroom routines, dressing, and care needs Support circle time, snack preparation, and classroom activities Take initiative when needed, including briefly holding the class if the lead teacher steps away Participate in cleaning, food preparation, and practical tasks that form part of the Waldorf early childhood environment Work collaboratively with the lead teacher and engage in clear, respectful communication Uphold confidentiality and the principles of Waldorf early childhood education Professional Expectations Reliability, punctuality, and professional presence Interest in or experience with Waldorf education (training is great but not required) Ability to work collaboratively and reflectively with colleagues Commitment to supporting the developmental needs of young children Willingness to participate in faculty meetings, festivals, and farm life Compensation Hours are Monday- Thursday 8‑3 (with some flexibility), 1 hour meeting weekly with the lead teacher and help with seasonal festivals (lantern walk, advent spiral happen outside of program time). We follow a schedule similar to the public school schedule, with an additional long break in February. Pay is around $3,000/monthly. #J-18808-Ljbffr
