We are expanding and seeking compassionate Respiratory Therapists (RRTs & CRTs) to join our team for the opening of our brand-new unit. Key Responsibilities and Duties Provides care and advocacy to residents requiring respiratory expertise, and completes respiratory assessment of residents each shift. Participates in the care planning process. Assists with policy and procedure development and continuous quality improvement measures. Responsible for periodically covering school sessions, medical transports, and play therapy. Delivers periodic interdisciplinary in-service education to team members and responsible parties including mock codes and trach changes. Conducts parent/responsible party training and assess needs and deficits of the training parties under the direction of Director of Respiratory Services. Responsible for routine respiratory care; including equipment maintenance, respiratory treatments, troubleshooting equipment, etc. Provides daily interaction, including but not limited to frequent conversation, play and holding/cuddling of residents to provide daily stimulation. Committee participation including Admissions, Field Trip, and Education Committees. Qualifications and Skills Education and experience sufficient to meet position requirements; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); active and valid license in State of Delaware (or ability to seek) required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accessing electronic medical records. Exhibits positive communication techniques and skills and has ability to make oral presentations. Possess special interest in working with pediatric long term care residents and children with special needs. Ability to speak, read, and write English and to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, vendors and other staff members.
