Echocardiography Technologist

The Echocardiography Technologist performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. Working under the direction of a cardiologist, the technologist acquires and analyzes images to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Preliminary findings are documented and communicated to the interpreting physician for review. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma/GED
• Vocational/Technical School/Diploma
• Associate's degree
• Bachelor's Degree
• Master's Degree
• Other: Graduate of an accredited Echocardiography Program

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

• Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience
