Behavioral Health/Psych Registered Nurse (RN)

The Behavioral Health/Psych Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in the behavioral health setting. This role focuses on supporting adult patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being, and fostering a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and monitor patient progress.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Provide support and education to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to compliance standards.
• Participate in staff training and orientation programs as needed.

Schedule

• Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekdays and every other weekend required.
• Limited holiday requests to one of the major holidays during the contract.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in West Virginia.
• Minimum of one year of experience in behavioral health nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Management of Aggressive Behavior (CPI) and First Aid certifications (can be obtained during orientation).

Additional Information

Scrubs provided in navy or royal blue. The electronic medical record system used is Avatar.

Staffing ratios may vary:

• Adolescent: 1:8
• Adults/Forensic: 1:15-20 depending on the unit.

Please note that attendance is critical, and any absence for 3 or more consecutive days due to illness or injury requires a doctor's verification and medical clearance prior to returning to work.
