Nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, Every Other Weekend, with call required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will hold shift accountability for providing comprehensive care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients. Utilizing the nursing process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy and procedures, the RN will demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist laboring patients
• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers
• Circulate in the Operating Room for cesarean sections (preferred)
• Triage patients of 20 weeks and up
• Attend deliveries to support newborn resuscitation
• Recover vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Provide care to antepartum patients requiring L&D support

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Completion of at least 2 travel assignments in Labor and Delivery
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Experience with CPN and Cerner is preferred
• Ability to pass an EKG
