Diagnostic Automotive Technician – Lafayette, LA

Carencro Automotive Center is hiring a Diagnostic Automotive Technician to support our growing customer base in the Lafayette and Carencro area.

We're looking for someone who can properly diagnose problems, communicate clearly with the team, and take pride in fixing vehicles correctly the first time. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced technician who wants consistent hours, quality equipment, and a shop environment built around professionalism and respect.

Compensation: $65,000 – $95,000 per year
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | No Weekends

What You'll Do

Diagnose drivability, electrical, suspension, and mechanical issues
Perform repairs across a wide range of makes and models
Use modern scan tools and diagnostic equipment
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
Communicate findings clearly with advisors and team members
Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment

What We're Looking For

Minimum 3 years of automotive repair experience
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to pursue them)
Own hand tools
Clean driving record
Dependable, team-oriented attitude

Schedule & Benefits

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
No nights or weekends
Potential 4-day work week scheduling for the right technician
Paid vacation after 1 year
Sick pay after 6 months
