Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience with an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

Work in the PCU/Stepdown unit of a hospital environment
Cares for telemetry and cardiac monitoring patients with dysrhythmia management needs
Patient ratio of 1:5
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Floating to MedSurg units required
Every other weekend required

Requirements

Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) currently in hand or pending
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
Experience in MS/Tele, Tele, or PCU/Stepdown settings required
Proficient in starting IVs, heparin protocols, and managing cardiac drips without titration
Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Experience with central and peripheral line care/management
Experience with blood product administration
Experience with rapid response/code team protocols
Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
Charting system experience required (any system)

Additional Information

Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care to PCU patients
Manage respiratory needs including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
Utilize non-invasive airway management techniques
Must work at least one of the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
Accepts local candidates within 60 miles at a lower rate
Candidates residing more than 60 miles away are eligible for the travel rate
