Position Research Assistant / Senior Research Assistant – Full‑time, 12‑month contract at UMKC, Department of Ophthalmology, Vision Research Center (Kansas City, Missouri). Key Responsibilities Assist with ocular cell biology, biochemistry and microscopy experiments as part of an NIH‑funded research project. Prepare biological specimens for imaging and ocular cell biological and biochemical testing. Acquire and analyze related data. Maintain ocular cell biology, biochemistry and microscopy equipment. Order routine supplies, prepare technical reports and archive data. Collaborate with a highly qualified research group to advance ocular research with the goal of developing cures or treatments for vision degenerative conditions. Qualifications Research Assistant: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in cell biology methods and microscopy techniques. Senior Research Assistant: Master’s degree in a related medical or science field and 2+ years of experience in cell biology methods and microscopy techniques. Experience in ocular cell biology is preferred. Compensation and Benefits Hourly range: $20–$25. Salary is based on education, skills, experience and organizational requirements.
