- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a Master's Degree in educational leadership and a School Administrator Certification preferred
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience, prior administrative experience preferred
- Experience with high school aged students is preferred
- Proven leadership ability in working with students, parents, professional staff and other administrators
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technology skills and ability to integrate technology to support the cross building role
- Build relationships with students, staff, and parents to support the transition to high school and foster a positive school climate.
- Assist in promoting a safe, positive learning environment through student discipline, behavior interventions, and restorative practices.
- Monitor and support student attendance by collaborating with students, families, counselors, and staff to improve attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism.
- Assist in supervision of all school activities.
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of reports, records, lists, and other work required by the school's administration.
- Assist with establishing guides for proper student conduct, update the student handbooks, and maintain student discipline according to due process rights of students.
- Analyze attendance and discipline data to identify trends and support interventions that improve student success.
- Positive attendance is an essential job function for this position.
- Active participation and leadership in professional development for all building staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to use data in measuring, monitoring and improving instruction, student behavior, attendance, and related services.
- All other duties as assigned by the Building Administrator or the Superintendent
