Sparks Group is teamed up with a nationally recognized federally funded non-profit seeking an experienced CFO Consultant to provide senior-level financial strategy, executive guidance, and financial governance for a complex organization. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director, Executive Team, and Board, providing strategic oversight of financial sustainability, risk, forecasting, budgeting, grants, audits, and major financial decisions.The CFO Consultant will work closely with the Director of Finance & Accounting, who retains responsibility for day-to-day financial operations and accounting execution. This role is ideal for a seasoned financial leader who can operate at the executive and Board level, translate complex financial information into actionable recommendations, and strengthen the organization's overall financial strategy and governance. Key Responsibilities

• Advise the Executive Director, Executive Team, and Board on financial strategy, organizational sustainability, risk, and major financial decisions.
• Lead long-range financial planning, forecasting, scenario modeling, and strategic financial analysis, while providing executive oversight of annual budgeting and reforecasting.
• Serve as the senior financial advisor to the Board and relevant committees, translating financial results and trends into clear strategic recommendations.
• Provide executive oversight of audits, federal audits, financial examinations, IRS Form 990 filings, grant reviews, and other regulatory financial reporting, including remediation of findings.
• Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, grant and contract risk management, and enterprise financial risk practices, while coaching and providing strategic direction to the Director of Finance & Accounting.

Key Requirements

• 10+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, including significant experience leading finance and accounting functions at a senior or executive level.
• Proven expertise in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, audits, internal controls, grants management, and executive/Board-level reporting.
• Experience within a nonprofit, association, federally funded organization, or similarly complex environment with multiple funding sources and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate the financial and fiduciary implications of grants, contracts, partnerships, investments, sponsorships, and other major organizational commitments.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required; active CPA certification required. Strong executive communication, advisory, and stakeholder-management skills are essential.

This job is Fully Remote.

Pay Range: Hourly $62.00 to $80.00
