# Job Opportunity – Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) RN – Western North Carolina**Start Date:** August 17, 2026 **Location:** Asheville, North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Self-scheduling with unit needs consideration; 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period; 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 12-bed unit**Highlights:** - Neuroscience ICU specializing in post-thrombectomy, TPA patients, and post-neurosurgery care- Advanced procedures including CRRT, bedside EVD management, and arterial line monitoring- Collaborative unit with support from unit secretaries and patient care technicians- Cerner documentation system with Baxter infusion pumps- Float opportunities primarily to other ICU settings and step-down units as needed- Opportunity to work in a specialty neuroscience critical care environment**Requirements:** - Active RN license- BLS and ACLS certifications required- NIHSS certification required- Previous ICU nursing experience required- Neurology ICU experience strongly preferred- Experience caring for post-thrombectomy, TPA, and neurosurgery patients highly valued- Proficiency with CRRT, EVD management, and arterial line monitoring**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to work in a specialized neuroscience intensive care unit where you'll provide critical care to complex neurology and neurosurgery patients.
