Outdoor Summer Custodian (3352)

Custodian for Summer 2026Pay wage of $17.65 an hour. Duties include, but are not limited to:Prepares athletic fields and facilities for all athletic eventsCares for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or wallsResponsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the school districtResponsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the propertyUses hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axesPrunes or trims trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain sawsGathers and removes litterFills in for custodians around the district and for athletic event coverage during the winter months when outdoor work is at a minimumCommunicates with Athletic Director (daily) and Director of Operations regarding repair/maintenance needsAdditional Functions: Other duties as assignedQualifications: High School Diploma or GEDCompetencies: Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levelsWorking conditionsMental Demands: calculating, comparing, evaluation, interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, planning, documenting, specifying. Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate mannerPhysical Demands: bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking for prolonged periods of time, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 lbs. Manipulating hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment. Reaching overhead, the shoulder and horizontally to reach and place materials and equipment in certain areas. Occasional carrying, pushing, or pulling. Performing physically demanding work with tools and powered machinery. May require driving a vehicle to conduct workEnvironmental Conditions: The work is performed primarily outdoors; however, inside work is required on occasion. Regular exposure to fumes, dust and odor, and noise from equipment operation. Work around and with machinery and motorized equipment. Travel between buildings is a requirement
