Nanny By Design is seeking a dependable, engaged nanny for a long-term part-time position with a family in Lexington, NC. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule caring for two school-age children, with the opportunity to build a lasting relationship with the family.
Position Details
- Pay: $20–$25 per hour
- Guaranteed hours
- Mileage reimbursement
- Location: Lexington, NC
- Schedule: 2 days per week, Monday through Thursday
- Hours: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with occasional flexibility until 5:00 PM
- Start Date: As soon as the right fit is found
- Children: 8 and 6 years old
- Pets: 1 dog
The children are active, social, and enjoy a variety of activities including swimming, Jiu-Jitsu, golf, reading, library trips, crafts, and outdoor play. The family is looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on and can provide attentive, encouraging care throughout the day.
What You’ll Do
- Assist the children with their Christian-based homeschool curriculum
- Follow the family's provided curriculum and help guide the children through their lessons
- Drive the children to and from activities as needed
- Plan and participate in outdoor and age-appropriate activities
- Encourage independence, accountability, and age-appropriate responsibilities
- Supervise and encourage the children's chores
- Support the family's established routines and approach to discipline
- Load and unload the dishwasher
- Keep children's areas and activity spaces tidy throughout the day
- Provide engaged, attentive, and hands-on care
What the Family Is Looking For
The ideal nanny is active, patient, dependable, and comfortable engaging with both children. The family is looking for someone who:
- Enjoys outdoor activities and hands-on interaction with children
- Is punctual, responsible, and dependable
- Has experience supporting school-age children with structured learning
- Is comfortable following a provided homeschool curriculum
- Is respectful of and comfortable with the family's Christian faith and values
- Can provide consistent support with the parents' established expectations and discipline approach
- Communicates well and builds positive relationships with children
- Is interested in a long-term commitment with the family
Nanny By Design Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum of 3 years of professional childcare experience outside of your immediate family
- 2–3 professional childcare references
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable driving children when required
- Willingness to complete a background check
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification within the required timeframe
- Willingness to complete the Nanny By Design application and interview process
