Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Job Overview The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. The role involves donor eligibility determination, management of donor events, review of laboratory tests, and coordination with the Center Physician and BioLife Medical Affairs. The specialist also supports environmental, health and safety, employee health, and pandemic response activities. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and respond according to SOPs; follow and develop Center Physician standing orders and arrange donor transport to emergency care when necessary. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, safety or eligibility issues. Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation needs per occupational health/ER and EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and assist with investigations of pandemic threats per EHS and Medical Affairs guidance. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state of assignment (LPN or LVN). Current CPR and AED certification. Proof of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting. Location and Hours USA – IL – Harwood Heights – part‑time employee. Compensation U.S. hourly wage range: $26.88 – $36.96, subject to experience, qualifications, and applicable wages.
