The manufacturing engineer in this role will be responsible for creating/updating manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, and material handling. The Engineer designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the assembly and integration of products and other functions that affect product performance. They will adapt processes and/or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of assembly operations and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts for manufacturability and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures follow regulations. Reviews nonconforming material trends to implement process and/or assembly improvements. Maintains and creates manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) in the material resource planning (MRP) system. Assist site management in the implementation of capital equipment purchases.Basic Qualifications:BS in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related engineering field and 2+ years of experience in related job role.Prior exposure to manufacturing on DoD contractsDemonstrated capability to develop and maintain manufacturing processesPreferred Qualifications:Experience creating and maintaining MBOMs in a MRP system like SAPExperience in routing/work instruction creation in a Manufacturing Execution SystemExperience working with Solidworks / AutoCADThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
