Custodian

Under general supervision, responsible for performing housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, and all other areas in campus buildings. Responsibilities Cleans, sweeps, mops, dusts, and scrubs tile work, floors, stairways, hallways, restrooms, offices, laboratories, locker rooms, and building lobbies. Cleans, dusts, and polishes furniture and equipment. Washes and polishes drinking fountains. Cleans and maintains restrooms. Empties waste baskets and trash boxes. Wax and polish floors. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to use common cleaning tools and lightweight vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and buffers. Ability to follow work schedule, work safely and lift/move lightweight objects. Ability to read and/or follow simple direction/signs and follow simple verbal and/or written instructions. EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED is required. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire. Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
