Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care primarily on the Respiratory unit, with occasional floating to various Med-Surg units. This role requires a highly skilled professional capable of managing acute respiratory cases and a diverse medical-surgical patient population.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with respiratory conditions, including COVID-19, following hospital protocols.
• Float between units to support various departments such as Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders based on unit needs.
• Maintain proficiency in Epic EMR system, ensuring accurate documentation and charting of patient data.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret rhythm strips accurately, demonstrating current competency.
• Follow all safety and clinical standards, including adherence to active BLS and Ohio RN license requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to provide seamless patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Ohio RN license and current BLS certification.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years’ recent experience in telemetry and/or step-down units.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Epic EMR; refresher courses or one-on-one training are not acceptable.
• Ability to work night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend.
• Possess excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Fluency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips, with testing to verify competency on day one.
