Retail Sales Manager New York - Fine Jewellery Up to $150,000 + Commission Chelsea, New York Permanent The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially driven Retail Sales Manager to lead private client acquisition, direct sales and showroom operations for an established fine jewellery business in its Chelsea showroom in New York. This is a unique opportunity within an intimate showroom environment, where sales are driven through proactive client outreach, private appointments, curated events and direct selling rather than traditional walk-in retail. The Retail Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with private clients and collectors, driving sales and supporting the continued growth of the showroom. The role will also work closely with commercial, production, operations and marketing teams to ensure a seamless client experience from initial enquiry through to after-sales service. Key Responsibilities Develop and grow direct client relationships through proactive outreach, private showroom appointments, salons and curated events. Drive sales and identify new business opportunities across an established network of luxury clients and contacts. Manage the full sales process, from initial client engagement through to order processing and delivery. Prepare invoices, process payments and coordinate orders through the relevant internal channels. Track production and delivery timelines, maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams. Manage after-sales service, including repairs, resizing and bespoke client requests. Maintain regular and personalised communication with clients to encourage long-term relationships and loyalty. Use the CRM system to maintain accurate client records, including purchase history, preferences and important dates. Attend external selling events, salon showcases and client appointments where required. Work closely with the Commercial Director to support sales targets, showroom stock planning and merchandising strategies. Collaborate with the marketing team to support showroom visibility and client engagement within the New York market. Maintain high standards of showroom presentation, product staging and overall client experience. Identify and develop new sales opportunities through networking, relationship building and strategic sourcing. Work collaboratively with international and cross-functional teams to support client requirements and commercial objectives. About You Proven experience in fine jewellery, luxury retail, art or a similarly high-end client-facing sales environment . Strong track record of driving sales and developing long-term relationships with private clients. Commercially driven, proactive and confident in developing new business opportunities. Comfortable working within an intimate showroom environment where priorities can change quickly. Strong clienteling and relationship management skills, with the ability to deliver a highly personalised service. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with clients, collectors and senior stakeholders. Able to manage complex client requests, including bespoke orders, repairs and after-sales requirements with professionalism and discretion. Resourceful and commercially minded, with the ability to work creatively when managing stock and client requirements. Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. Confident working cross-functionally with production, operations, marketing and commercial teams. Strong awareness of showroom presentation, product staging and maintaining a polished luxury environment.
