About the Position
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician (or Family Medicine Physician with Emergency Medicine experience) to join a collaborative and well-supported emergency department in Pittsburg, KS. This is an excellent opportunity to practice high-quality emergency medicine in a close-knit, physician-led environment that prioritizes teamwork and work-life balance.
Practice Overview:
- 16-bed Emergency Department
- Over 19,000 annual ED visits
- Team-based model with 6 Physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers
- Broad case mix serving a diverse patient population
- Strong multidisciplinary support, including specialists, imaging, and ancillary services
- Culture of collaboration with physicians supporting one another in shift coverage
- Regular monthly meetings (remote and in-person) to promote communication and engagement
Schedule & Work-Life Balance
- Flexible scheduling
- Shift times:
- 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Full-time commitment: 120 hours per month
- Emphasis on sustainable workloads and physician well-being
Compensation & Benefits
- $250 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package
- Up to $75,000 sign-on bonus
- Up to $50,000 retention bonus

Requirements:
- MD or DO
- ABEM-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine physician, or Primary Care (Family Medicine/Internal Medicine) physician with Emergency Department experience
- Eligible for or able to obtain unrestricted medical licensure in Kansas
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to high-quality, patient-centered emergency care
- Team-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills
