Medical Assistant

Description We are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to work in the Medical Department at the Berks County Jail System in Leesport, PA. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks such as medical records request, administrative reports, Continuity of Care (COC) release, and other medical duties. Openings: full time day shift full time evening shift Job Responsibilities: Maintaining examination and treatment areas Verification of medications and medical information Maintain medication records Answer telephone and processing calls Maintain filing system and confidentiality of information at all times Provide full administrative and clerical support to the medical department at the facility to include typing of various reports, letters and memorandum Data Entry Scanning documents into the computer Assisting with the credentialing process of new hires Maintain staff log Schedule transports Assist with billing Benefits: PrimeCare believes in offering a competitive compensation and benefits package to their employees. Requirements Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multi-tasking Good grasp of patient assessment skills Effective communication skills & pleasant telephone manner Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Working knowledge of office equipment and medical equipment Working knowledge of medical terminology Minimum of 2 years medical assistant or medical office administrative support.
