Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Schedule: Nights (3x12 typical contract) Shift: 36 hours/week (3x12s)

Requirements:

• License: IL license in hand required at time of submittal
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS/BLS, PALS, NRP
• Experience: 1 year preferred, first-timers accepted
• EMR: Epic
• Unit-specific skills: Triage, 12-lead ECGs, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, starting/maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, stroke/CVA care

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the emergency department to patients across all age groups.
• Assess patients' conditions and determine priority of care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes in condition.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions and post-discharge care.

Compliance / Notes:

• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Request Time Off: Max 7 days (no RTO first week; no new RTO after submission; approval required if >7 days)
• Vaccines: COVID-19 vaccine NOT required; Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• Fit testing: Facial hair must allow proper fit test (may be required to shave)
• Onboarding modules & labs: Required pre-start
• Parking: Free
