Electronics Controls TechnicianThe Electronics Controls Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance of industrial control systems, PLCs, and various electronic components while maintaining safety standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and works a night shift. Night shift hours will be 7PM-7AM for 4 days a week (total of 48 hours per week). This position is eligible for a $3000.00 sign-on bonus.Key Responsibilities:Install, troubleshoot, and maintain complex electronic/electrical equipment, including comprehensive work on PLCs, motor relays, circuit breakers, and industrial control systems to ensure optimal facility operationsDiagnose, repair, and maintain sophisticated electronic systems, including detailed work with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, vision systems, and AC/DC drives, while ensuring all automated manufacturing equipment operates at peak efficiencyPerform precise calibration, alignment, and modification of electronic components and circuitry, implementing preventive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and performance metricsPerform advanced troubleshooting of complex electronic issues using sophisticated diagnostic equipment and technical documentation, implementing both immediate solutions and long-term preventive measuresCoordinate effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical challenges, implement system improvements, and maintain rigorous equipment performance standardsParticipate in facility-wide continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for system upgrades, process enhancements, and efficiency improvements, including cost-saving measuresPerform and maintain comprehensive Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures and safety systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations while protecting personnel and equipmentMust be willing to help troubleshoot and repair mechanical problemsOther duties as assignedExperience:3-5 years hands on experience as Electronics Technician preferredRequired Skills:Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshootingProficiency in Mechanical SkillsStrong knowledge of industrial controls and automationExperience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platformsExpertise in electrical/electronic systems troubleshootingUnderstanding of NEC electrical codesAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteIndustrial electronics expertiseServo and drive systemsElectrical safety knowledgeTraining capabilitiesProblem-solving abilityAdditional Requirements:Must be 18 years of ageMust pass pre-employment assessmentDrug screening requiredBackground check requiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Industrial control systems and automationPLC programming and ladder logicElectrical and electronic theorySafety protocols and proceduresProcess control systemsIndustrial networking and communicationsNEC and safety regulationsAdvanced troubleshooting and Technical problem-solvingEquipment calibrationProgramming and software modificationTechnical documentationPreventive maintenanceManage multiple prioritiesEffective CommunicationBasic knowledge of Machine tools; Lathes, Mills, Drill PressBasic knowledge of welding, and sheet metal fabricationPhysical Demands: The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:Ability to lift and move up to 50 poundsStanding/walking for extended periodsWorking in various positions (bending, kneeling, reaching)Required to lift, bend, crouch, reach, twist, and crawl.Exposure to manufacturing environment (noise, heat, chemicals)May require working in confined spacesRequired to work in high places.Required to ascend and descend ladders safely.Ability to safely operate mobile equipment.Ability to wear respiratory protection as neededAbility to wear ARC flash equipmentAbility to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with potential exposure to:Noise levels above 85 dBOperation of complex machinerySolvents, fumes and inksConcrete floors, roof areasWorking at heights, hot workVariable TemperaturesMust be able to work flexible shiftsMay require nights, weekends, and holidays.An additional $2.50/hr premium for hours worked on NIGHT Shift only.Printpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
