Small Animal Emergency/Critical Care Staff VeterinarianUnder general direction, primarily receive, stabilize and treat canine and feline emergency and urgent care patients with the assistance of the Emergency and Critical Care Service faculty and residents when needed. Teach and train professional veterinary students, interns, and technicians in providing small animal emergency and urgent care.Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position:Current California Veterinary Medicine License or a CA University License.D.V.M. or equivalent degree.Board certified, residency trained or a minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency medicine.Experience to provide oversight of professional DVM students and animal health technicians in all aspects of canine and feline emergency medicine, including experience to provide constructive feedback to technicians and students regarding compliance with policies and procedures and the importance of documentation and record keeping.Experience to provide high quality service to all constituents.Current knowledge of veterinary medicine as it applies to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact in a constructive manner with a variety of faculty, staff and students, as well as people from the community.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and Experience using VMACS medical record keeping system.Knowledge of the VMTH policies and procedure.Key Responsibilities:90% - Clinical Services10% - TeachingDepartment Overview:The VMTH is a unit that provides clinical case material in support of the teaching programs throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine on a 24-hour basis.
