Mechanical Technician (Level 1)

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician (Level 1) to work on-site at a customer location in Edgerton, KS. This role involves providing hands-on technical support to fulfill customer requirements. The primary responsibility is to perform general maintenance and repairs on various mechanical equipment. The position is customer-facing and does not require travel. 2 month project. No interviews required.

Responsibilities

• Use basic hand tools to perform on-site repairs, maintenance, and general service tasks.
• Conduct product demonstrations of basic mechanical equipment.
• Provide maintenance support and training to in-house maintenance staff when necessary.
• Offer technical guidance and expertise where applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School degree (preferred: Associate degree in a technology field, e.g., mechanical, electrical, electronics).
• Broad knowledge of mechanical hand tools and principles.
• Understanding of PC applications, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Ability to use iPads to complete work orders, send/receive email, and attend team calls.
• Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
• Ability to understand technical diagrams and manuals.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal direction.
• Adaptive to change and tight deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
• Good customer service and organizational skills are necessary.
• Ability to reason, communicate, make cognitive decisions, understand deadlines and timelines, and provide accurate results.
• Flexibility to work extended hours during the workweek and availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must have the ability to lift 60 lbs. or less, carrying and lifting tools and parts weighing up to 20 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, squat, walk, stand, and/or sit for prolonged periods and carry 50 lbs.
• May be required to push and pull a cart with equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.
