Software Engineering Intern

Innovate. Learn. Impact. Launch Your Career at UDig

At UDig, we believe in real-world experience from day one. Our 2027 Summer Internship Program is your chance to move beyond the classroom and join a people-first technology consulting firm where you'll ship working software on live client engagements. This is more than an internship – it's the launchpad for your engineering career in consulting.

Here's why students launch their careers with UDig:

• Real Client Engagement – A core component of your internship is contributing to a real client engagement, providing highly valuable, hands-on consulting experience.
• Mentorship & Coaching – Partner with Consultants and technical leaders who are dedicated to your success, offering guidance, code reviews, and career insights.
• Culture & Collaboration – Join a high-caliber, flexible team with opportunities for in-person collaboration, networking events, and an environment that champions work/life balance.
• Competitive Compensation – Receive a competitive hourly wage for your contributions.

What You'll Do:

• Write clean, well-documented, well-tested code as part of a delivery team working on an active client engagement.
• Gain practical experience with modern development stacks, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and DevOps tools.
• Participate in code reviews and pairing with Consultants, applying feedback to sharpen your engineering craft.
• Help debug, refactor, and document existing systems, and contribute to data models and integrations where the project calls for it.
• Dedicate time to research emerging technologies and best practices relevant to your project, applying your academic knowledge in a professional setting.

What You'll Bring:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• Foundational programming knowledge in an object-oriented or modern language (Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript), plus a working understanding of data structures, algorithms, and version control (Git).
• Exposure to relational databases and SQL, REST APIs, or cloud services is a plus.
• A strong passion for technology consulting and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the enthusiasm to ask questions and learn rapidly.
• Ability to work full-time for the duration of the 8-week summer program (6/7-7/30) in a hybrid model based out of one of our hub locations (Nashville or Richmond).
