The Transportation Market Lead is a mission critical leadership position leading our client's second largest corporate team. This is a developed market where our client is a recognized, established brand with a strong reputation for quality work. This individual will oversee their Kansas City-based transportation team to deliver purpose and vision to clients across the area. You will be both customer focused and technically sound. This position will be responsible for delivering quality transportation projects to DOTs and municipalities across Kansas and Missouri. By leading the delivery of quality projects, you will develop a strong network in the market. As the Market Lead, you will enjoy mentoring and developing staff. You will have an eye for detail and serve as a strong technical resource on all modes of transportation projects. Most importantly, you strive to build a strong, diverse team and are committed to solving clients problems and delivering quality work.

Responsibilities:

• Establishing and maintaining client relationships with new and existing clients.
• Collaborating with leadership to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on projects, operations, systems and programs.
• Conducting business development tasks, including identifying, selling and delivering meaningful work for your team.
• Overseeing and managing projects that improve communities. This includes performing engineering analysis, design and plan production for transportation and traffic engineering projects, such as roadways, highways, drainage, erosion and traffic control, traffic studies, traffic modeling, signal timing and design, and lighting design.
• Establishing and implementing an annual plan that helps your market meet or exceed annual KPI goals.
• Developing and reviewing project proposals and scopes of work to meet client schedule and budget.
• Managing your teams utilization and weekly workflow by prioritizing workloads to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget while meeting client needs.
• Growing and developing staff through training and mentorship.
• Coordinating labor and equipment resources and hiring needs as workloads require.

Qualifications:

• Licensed professional engineer with at least eight years of experience in transportation, traffic and/or civil engineering.
• Experience in MicroStation Open Roads and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of design standards, including AASHTO, MUTCD and APWA, and client standards, including DOT, counties and municipalities.
• Proven leader who will set up your team for success and is genuinely passionate about serving others.
• Focused on quality, with experience developing and meeting scope, schedules and budgets on related projects.
• Building relationships and working with clients to provide holistic, commonsense solutions.
• Problem solving and bring strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
• Possess verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
