Qualifications:

Registered Nurse;

Current license to practice professional nursing in Iowa

Job Summary:

A school nurse's basic responsibilities include providing basic healthcare to students in case of injury or illness, administering medications, monitoring student health records, performing health screenings, educating students on healthy habits, managing chronic health conditions, and coordinating with parents and healthcare providers to ensure students can access necessary medical care.

Job Responsibilities

1. Treat minor injuries and illnesses, providing immediate care during emergencies and assessing the need for further medical attention.
2. Dispense and monitoring prescription medications according to the doctor's orders.
3. Keep accurate and up-to-date medical information for each student.

The South Central Community School District is located in Northwest Iowa and serves the rural communities of Lake City, Rockwell City, Lytton, Lohrville, Lanesboro, and Jolley. Citizens enjoy the benefits of small town living while being in close proximity to Twin Lakes and larger towns including Carroll and Fort Dodge. Even Des Moines and Sioux City are within a two-hour drive.

District enrollment is 900 and holding steady. The district consists of three excellently maintained buildings and grounds with plans for significant renovations and improvements.
