Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for, designing required tooling (molds and fixtures) and processes that will be used to build components and assemblies to meet our customer’s requirements within Multifab’s capabilities. They will utilize knowledge of tooling design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards while complying with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and computer-generated reports.
2. Collaborate with applicable personnel to implement tooling and production processes.
3. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, and cost of designs or products.
4. Provide decision-making information by identifying root causes of failures and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods to maintain customer quality standards.
5. Assess production equipment capabilities and design needed modifications.
6. Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
7. Provide other departments with technical engineering support, as needed, on existing or new projects, methods, specifications, etc.
8. Perform project planning functions (e.g., create a usable package for BOM, work instructions, and customer drawings).
9. Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and necessary information to facilitate production processes.
10. Demonstrate satisfactory ability to comprehend engineering concepts, computer systems, customer drawings, etc.
11. Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer’s experience.
12. Accurately accomplish work tasks within timeframes and inform management when assistance is needed.
13. Compute, verity, organize, maintain, or update numerical and written records using electronic and manual company systems to enter, store, and retrieve applicable business information; ask for training when needed.
14. Communicate professionally, respectfully, and courteously with all employees, customers, and others with whom we may work.
15. Contributes to a successful workgroup and fosters a team-oriented culture through positive interactions, active listening, meaningful collaborations, high employee engagement, and the constructive exchange of ideas designed to meet or exceed the organization’s strategic goals.

18. Lead compliance with company policies, procedures, and protocols including customer specifications.
19. Serve as a key resource for Mold design and project planner.
20. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Ability to effectively hear, understand, read, comprehend, and write in the English language
2. Ability to effectively visually see the work environment, equipment, and resources in the work environment
3. Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field, and/or equivalent experience
4. 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
5. Project management skills
6. Problem-solving ability
7. Teamwork skills
8. Ability to prioritize workload to meet established timelines

Physical Work/Environment Requirements

1. Work is performed in an office environment (constant 67-100%) and requires occasional (11-33%) movement into a manufacturing warehouse environment.
