Job description Position Summary The Boathouse Restaurant is seeking a friendly, dependable, and energetic Host/Hostess to be the first welcoming face our guests see. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing the waitlist, coordinating seating, answering questions, and ensuring every guest receives exceptional service from the moment they arrive. This is a seasonal position that requires availability through September 15th. Schedule Requirements
Approximately 4 days per week
Weekend availability is required
Must be available to work 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays
Additional weekday shifts may be scheduled based on business needs
Responsibilities
Welcome guests with a warm and professional attitude
Manage the seating chart and waitlist efficiently
Seat guests while balancing server sections
Answer phones and assist with guest inquiries
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting host stand
Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff
Assist with light cleaning and other front-of-house duties as needed
Help create a positive dining experience for every guest
Qualifications
Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills
Strong communication and organizational abilities
Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods
Dependable with excellent attendance
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred but not required
Requirements
Must be available to work through September 15th
Weekend availability (11:00 AM - 5:00 PM) is required
Reliable transportation is required
Must be authorized to work in the United States
