Systems Administrator III Location: 4601 W. Guadalupe St., Austin, TX Summary Systems Administrator III responsible for daily monitoring, maintenance, and support of IT systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and user satisfaction. Essential Job Functions

• 40%) Perform complex technical and customer service support for local and remote staff, addressing PC workstation, hardware, software, and network connectivity issues. Resolve escalated tickets within established SLAs.
• 20%) Install and maintain hardware and software on agency workstations and other systems. Maintain patch levels and security software; manage user accounts and work with Data Center Services for server duties.
• 15%) Provide complex user support and training on hardware, software, and utilities; educate users on new features and keep current with technology trends.
• 10%) Coordinate projects and assignment completion goals, keeping team and leadership informed of status.
• 10%) Test new hardware, software, peripheral equipment, and cellular devices; conduct product evaluations and develop automated processes within established systems.
• 5%) Assist in responding to public health needs such as disease outbreaks and environmental emergencies; perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software. Knowledge of network operating systems and security software. Knowledge of SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager). Knowledge of Service Level Agreements. Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing IT related hardware and software. Skill in verbal and written communication. Skill in installing and maintaining Windows Operating systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suites. Ability to translate technical terms into non-technical language for training. Ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve network problems, and to train others. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to work in a team environment and seek competent assistance when needed. Ability to move computer and telecommunications equipment. Ability to work beyond regular hours when needed. Ability to adhere to HHS Guiding Principles, Code of Ethics, and Universal Expectations for Personal Responsibility. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications A+ Certification (Preferred) ITIL Certification (Preferred) Initial Screening Criteria Experience supporting Microsoft Windows based computer systems in a local or wide area network environment. Experience working in a trouble ticket resolution environment, such as Helix. Experience in Active Directory or Active Roles Server (ARS) or similar applications. Experience providing customer service and support. Experience supporting Microsoft Office O365 products. Additional Information Must have reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage and a valid driver's license. Must be capable of lifting, loading, and transporting computer and network equipment.
