Manager of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood, WA Type: Full-Time Salary: $76,206.80 per year Salary: $76,206.78 Annually Job Type: Full-time, regular Job Number: 2627AF06 Direct Report Unit: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Department: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion FLSA: Non-Exempt Bargaining Unit: AP Category: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Services Position Objective The Manager of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging position will provide leadership, direction, and guidance for the development of comprehensive initiatives for staff, faculty, and degree‑seeking students, aimed at eliminating structural racism. This includes the management of the Male Engagement Center (MEC), developing identity‑based programmatic offerings designed to support student success efforts for underrepresented groups, and providing college‑wide learning and tools to address matters related to inclusive excellence and belonging. This position will build upon the efforts of culturally appropriate outreach, recruitment, retention, and completion for underrepresented communities. The Manager of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging will provide subject matter expertise on education, coaching, consultation, programming, evaluation, and reporting for closing equity gaps. This position is critical in fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement, organizational accountability and effectiveness, compliance, momentum, and advancement towards Clover Park Technical College's (CPTC) and Washington state's equitable and anti‑racist goals. Duties and Tasks (Essential Functions) Duty: Program Administration and MEC Operations Develop, manage, and maintain operations for the MEC within an inclusive excellence and belonging framework. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a four‑person MEC student leadership team to ensure student voice and input are centered in the development of program offerings. Design and introduce annual large‑scale inclusion and belonging opportunities for campus community members to engage with affinity/identity conscious programming (summits, retreats, caucusing, conferences, etc.) beginning with a focus on minority male student success programming. Lead the implementation of MEC initiatives for student achievement, collaborating with on and off‑campus partners, staff, and faculty to carry out objectives. Design and implement programs that develop a sense of belonging through intentional programming and activities geared toward specific identity‑based communities. Provide professional mentoring, advocacy support, and referral to students and assist them in overcoming academic difficulties, barriers, or obstacles to student involvement, retention, persistence, and completion. Assist with the development and implementation of a high‑touch, proactive retention measure that helps to improve outcomes for men of color on campus Track quarterly reporting systems (i.e., benchmark tracking, early alerts, case notes) Work with Institutional Effectiveness, Enrollment Services, Student Success, and Instruction to collect data and develop reports that reflect the program's benchmark objectives and strategic goals (i.e., sense of belonging, college navigation skills, student retention, academic progress, graduation) Manage the MEC Advisory Committee Duty: College Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Strategic Priorities Implementation Collaborate with all members of the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (O‑EDI) Team and affiliated groups on various projects and events to support the seamless alignment of EDI strategic priorities Collaborate with identified campus partners and leaders in the development and implementation of professional development in accordance with RWC 28B.10.145 Support culturally appropriate outreach initiatives on campus and in our community as driven by Outreach and Entry Services. Identify an EDI and antiracism education and training framework in collaboration with the Associate Director for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Campus Climate that is publicly accessible on the CPTC website. Contribute to the college‑wide investigation, monitoring, and elimination of equity gaps related to college access and completion. Use data to demonstrate the effectiveness of programming in support of our college goal of increasing persistence, retention, and success of diverse student populations for men of color. Support the MEC's involvement with the implementation of the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan focused on recruiting, retaining, and graduating students of color. Conduct a variety of assessments to evaluate professional development and training effectiveness, determine future institutional needs, and create opportunities for greater campus engagement with EDI learning and continuous improvement. Lead efforts to facilitate and advise campus participation in local, regional, and national conferences related to inclusive excellence and belonging Collaborate with other support services and programs that contribute to student success and academic achievement to coordinate support for underrepresented students. Assist the College with creating a campus climate that is inclusive and welcoming to all students, especially students historically underrepresented in the trades. Duty: Student‑Wide Equity Professional Learning, Development, and Training Partner with the Teaching and Learning Center to create comprehensive EDI‑focused professional development training modules. Ensure training frameworks and training materials are publicly accessible on the CPTC website. In partnership with the Teaching and Learning Center, provide EDI consultations with faculty and industry partners to develop and facilitate customized EDI workshops and presentations that are industry‑related. In collaboration with the Manager of the MOSAIC Center and the Manager of the Peer Mentoring Center, develop an equity‑based student leadership training program. In collaboration with the Manager of the MOSAIC Center and the Manager of the Peer Mentoring Center, develop diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism training for all CPTC students, in accordance with RCW 28B.10.149 Duty: Budget, Professional Development, and Other Duties Make purchases on college‑issued purchase cards for the program department and reconcile P‑card purchases with statements on a monthly basis. Interpret college policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, ensuring compliance. Complete all required CPTC training, including but not limited to: LMS purchasing training, SafeColleges, and FERPA training. Maintain compliance at all times. Attend and actively participate in educational and professional activities and conferences to remain current with research and data trends, build knowledge, and expand resources for CPTC students. Participate in regional, state, and national professional organizations pertinent to the field, when funding is available. Represent CPTC's O‑EDI division at shared governance committees pertinent to the role, the MEC, and the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Represent CPTC's O‑EDI division at department, division, and college committees and events in the absence and at the request of the Associate Director for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Campus Climate. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum of one year of experience working with college student groups (e.g., student leadership, student clubs, community centers, non‑profit youth programs, etc.) Any combination of experience working with and for underrepresented and underserved communities. Recent relevant experience in training/education design, delivery, and facilitation, preferably in areas of diversity and inclusion. Demonstrated cultural humility with proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a field related to higher education, college student personnel, non‑profit leadership, or intercultural studies. Knowledge of power, privilege, oppression, and antiracism frameworks within the context of the United States of America. Knowledge, skills, and ability to develop culturally responsive programs in a higher education OR nonprofit environment by serving as a planning member for the development of a culturally responsive program. Demonstrated understanding of student development frameworks (primarily related to men of color and African American student development theory). Ability to develop collaborative campus relationships and function as a team member. Ability to facilitate and moderate dialogue among cross‑cultural environments.
