About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Procedural Profession: RN Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Neuro IR, Vascular IR, or General IR required. License: Current RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support; ACLS within 6 months of hire Must-Have: Experience in Neuro IR, Vascular IR, or General IR Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in specialty areas. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medications as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients to share care plans during their hospital stay and at the time of discharge. Oversees treatment provided by technicians or other service providers. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is required. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services while applying nursing techniques. Maintains good working relationships with other employees. Possesses good verbal and written communication skills. Responds effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills are required. Works effectively as part of a team providing excellent specialized care. May require completion of orientation and ability to function independently in the assigned specialty area prior to being assigned. Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Preferred Skills & Experience: Not Applicable
