Companion

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday (flexibility required) 45-50 hours per week

Compensation & Benefits: $40-$50/hour, plus overtime pay in accordance with applicable laws. The family offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, an HSA, a 401(k) with employer match, and three weeks of paid time off.

Position Overview: A private family in Georgetown is seeking a warm, polished, and highly capable Companion to join their fully staffed household. This hybrid role is ideal for a professional who enjoys building meaningful relationships while providing exceptional household support.

Working alongside an experienced household team- including three housekeepers, butlers, and two additional companions - the Companion will provide day-to-day companionship and support to the principal while assisting in maintaining the home's organization, cleanliness, and overall presentation.


Responsibilities:

• Provide companionship and meaningful social engagement to the principal.
• Accompany the principal to appointments, errands, outings, and activities.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating personal appointments and engagements.
• Offer attentive support while respecting the principal's independence, preferences, and privacy.
• Perform detailed housekeeping and maintain assigned areas to the highest standards.
• Manage laundry, ironing, wardrobe care, and linen organization.
• Keep living spaces organized, tidy, and guest-ready.
• Assist with special events and entertaining as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the household staff to ensure the home operates seamlessly.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Companion in a private household with excellent verifiable references.
• Professional housekeeping experience with exceptional attention to detail.
• Warm, engaging, and service-oriented personality.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and work independently.
• Professional demeanor with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
• Experience working successfully within a fully staffed household.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
