Plant Manager

Scope of Position

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products while meeting safety, cost, and performance objectives. This role provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership to drive operational excellence through a team of supervisors and managers.

Responsibilities

Lead, direct, and coordinate all plant operations to achieve production, quality, and cost targets.
Ensure production objectives are consistently met through effective planning, resource allocation, and performance management.
Oversee end-to-end plant functions including manufacturing, quality assurance, warehousing, receiving, and shipping.
Maintain accountability for product quality, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Direct maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of plant equipment, facilities, and security systems.
Participate in strategic planning and align plant operations with overall organizational goals.
Review and approve decisions related to staffing, compensation, and operational expenditures.
Foster a strong culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and promoting best practices.
Lead employee relations initiatives, including training, development, engagement, and retention programs.
Monitor industry trends and advancements in food manufacturing, recommending and implementing process improvements and operational enhancements.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operational challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Strong attention to detail and documentation capabilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably within the food industry.
Solid understanding of safety regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment based on experience.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food production.
