Driver Trainee (Class A CDL) for Amazon Freight Partner

Compensation: $24.00 per hour + benefits

Local-Home Daily, No-touch freight

GIF Logistics, Inc is hiring CDL Driver Trainees to support the Amazon Freight Partner program. We have partnered with the Amazon Career Choice program to offer excellent entry-level truck driving training to new Commercial Drivers License Class A (CDL-A) holders. We'll help you transition both professionally and financially into your new career. Amazon Career Choice applicants must have completed a minimum of 160 hours of CDL-A Training and meet Amazon's rigorous safety Standards. You will be paid $18.00 per hour during the training period. Once the new driver training is completed, the hourly pay will be adjusted to 24.00 per hour.

All applicants are required to complete a background check, Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query, and pre-employment drug test before being fully onboarded.

Key job responsibilities:

• Haul loads (primarily no-touch freight) using state-of-the-art equipment and technology

• Drive local and regional routes that have you home after every shift

• Work a minimum of 35 hours per week with opportunities for additional shifts and overtime after 40 hours.

• E xceed customer expectations by delivering trailers/containers on time and in a safe manner.

• Basic qualifications:

• Be 21 years of age or older

• Must possess a CDL-A driver's license

• Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

• Able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English

• Must satisfy Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements imposed by the DOT

• Must have a positive Drive-A-Check (DAC) Report

• Pass a DOT-required drug screen

• Able to learn and use handheld technology devices and apps associated with work assignments.

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 + years of experience using handheld technology devices

• 1 + years of experience using smartphone applications such as GPS

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent

• Own an iPhone (preferred but not necessary)
